Year 11 BTEC Creative Media Production Starts!

Welcome Year11 to your final year of BTEC!

You should be working on your ideas for your animation. This will be your PITCH for your idea.

So what do you need to do now and what should you have done already?

Firstly, EVERY LESSON - remember you must write up a lesson/session AIM and then at the end of every lesson, write a short summary of what you actually ACHIEVED/ DID/ LEARNT and what you are going to do next lesson:

1. Aim for session:
2. Achieved this session:
3. Plan for next session:

Please RECORD all teacher feedback given to you - use the 'Teacher Feedback' form OR write it up on your blog.

ALREADY should have done
1. Created your blog
2. Delete your fake/test post - ask miss if you don't know how to to this yet
3. Link your blog to this one using http://yr11btecmedia.blogspot.co.uk - again, ask if unsure
4. Subscribe to the blog using the 'follow by email' box above/on the right
5. READ the pages from the student study book about WORKING WITH OTHERS - pps 32-36 (fill in any boxes/do activities on the pages of the book, not your blog)
6. READ about KEEPING A LOGBOOK pps 52-53 (You will keep the records in your 'logbook'/production diary on your BLOG, not paper)
7. READ about Managing your research and information pps 55-63 - doing any activities - again on the pages (and not on your blog)
8. Start work in your group on your animation idea. Tell miss initially so she can check it's okay. Then go to the next section (to do next/now)

TO DO NEXT/NOW

9. Make a label for the top and side of your yellow storage box
10. Once miss has approved your basic idea, you need to prepare a presentation to give to class in a few weeks time. You will need to PITCH your idea to the group, showing lots of detail about what the ideas will mean for your final animation. You will then create your production paperwork. READ the sheets on how to give an effective presentation to help you and refer to the managing your information section (pps64-66) to get advice on how to present your finding and ideas. USE the exemplar storyboards etc you were given (Student work in coloured felt tip) to give you an idea of what to produce for production paperwork.

The student production paperwork you are to use as a guide to produce your own is shown here - don't use sheets you won't need as you're doing animation for example - a cast list (as you will be doing puppets) and not an external location list as you will be filming on your set - however, you will need a list of locations to make for your set...
